My work is done

‘My work is done ‘.  I did a Google search to see who originally said this and it was used by the Lone Ranger, and I believe Mary Poppins.  Probably not said in the same context as I have used it. But I have completed all the artwork for my upcoming exhibition.

 Over the past year I have been thinking about and creating art for Layered Land: Time, Fragility and Repair, which is due to open at M16 Artspace in Canberra on 21 March in Gallery 3 one of the smaller spaces in the Gallery. I will be launching the webpages for this show when I return home from the opening.  Hopefully I will do a few more blog entries.  I have also decided to create a small room pamphlet about some of the materials and the creative stream that leads me to make art.

Six of the pieces for Layered Land are from my Weathering a Life exhibition. These textiles formed the basis of my new body of work which is four large charcoal drawings, four small charcoal and encaustic works and four more new textile works. 

 So, it is now time for me to update my journals and reflect about the whole experience.   Here are a few photos of my studio space. I look out to a small fern garden. It is a cooling view in the hot weather we are now experiencing at the beginning of March.
